Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions

Does the puzzle change every day?

Yes. Sumabl and Spellabl have fresh boards every day with new numbers, letters and hidden words.

Can I replay today's puzzle?

Once you have completed a puzzle you cannot replay it. Come back tomorrow for a fresh new board.

What's the difference between Spellabl and Sumabl?

Same board, completely different challenge.
In Sumabl, the segments contain numbers, and your goal is to sum them all into the centre.
In Spellabl, the segments contain letters and your goal is to drag them together to spell out today's hidden word or words.

How is my score calculated?

Your score is based on the number of moves it takes to clear the board. Fewer moves is better, while resets and hints count as a penalty. Scores are tracked on the leaderboard so you can see how you compare with other players.

Is there a time limit?

There is no time limit but your time is recorded. If there are ties on the leaderboards then the time is taken into account.

How do I join a leaderboard?

To join an existing leaderboard you need to be invited. If you have received an invite email you can click the link to join the leaderboard. You can also see and respond to your invites on the leaderboard screen.

On the leaderboards screen you can also create your own leaderboards and invite others to join.

Sumabl

What happens if I run out of valid moves?

If there are no valid moves left and the board isn't clear, the game ends. Tap Reset to start the board again.

Spellabl

How many words are there per puzzle?

It varies. Some days there's one word, other days there are multiple. The letters on the board always spell out the complete set of words for that day, your job is to find them all in the right order.

What happens if I get a word wrong?

The letters rewind automatically. They return to where they came from and you can try a different combination. There's no penalty for a wrong attempt, but the moves do remain on your move count. Remember if you realise you have gone wrong you can double tap a segment to rewind it and save yourself some moves.

Why can't I complete the second word even though I spelled the first one correctly?

This is the most common challenge in Spellabl - sometimes there is more than one way to make a word. If you've completed a valid word but can't finish the next one, it's likely that you took a path through the board that used a letter the next word needs. Try resetting and approaching the first word from a different direction.
